I went to Aalesund University College on several occasions and was very impressed; I noticed that in the credits. I can see that happening sooner or later, especially with the Norwegians - bringing out such technology. All of their technological knowhow goes straight to the vessels, ours goes straight into fighter jets.

DAMN!!! That’s a hell of a lot of advanced technology on that bridge. Capt. Kirk would be impressed.

Yep, Cap, you’re correct. We spend our money developing the technology and building the stuff that defends everybody else so they can use their money to develop the technology and build the stuff that comes over here and overshadows ours. It don’t make’em better mariners…do it?

I want me one of them!

Its a sea ship, not a damn space ship…

Look like fun though, Like Nemo said, I want one!!

Don’t think the ECDIS class is gonna cover all that…

I can’t wait to just gesture in front of the console to change screens. It’s like a huge iPhone! I’d probably take a (slight) pay cut to play with those toys full time.

Yeah, actually they are better mariners and smart enough to keep their military spending under control. The U.S. or we on the other hand, are being looted by special interest who feed freely at the open trough of our treasury. President Eisenhower warned the country over 50 years ago about the military-industrial complex in the U.S.
It would appear his warning has become reality with the squandering of trillions of dollars on the Irag debacle and other useless wars.

Gee, what happened to the days of DR and a magnetic compass plus looking at a box turning a crank trying to get a couple of oscilloscope lines to match up to use for a position.

The profit margin got too thin.

You might be on to something there. Here is a link to a company that reminds me of a Norwegian version of ECO

The bridge on their newest “ORION” is not as fancy as the video, but it does have the dual DP chairs looking over the back deck. Pretty cool rig. They have some serious fishing boats too.

All from local guys, in a town called Fosnavag, near Alesund and about tthe size of Galliano.
