Two Tankers to Shift from OSG to Keystone, Dec 2022

That is when us at Mobil had to either join MEBA, or pay a “service fee” equivalent to dues. We were grandfathered on an initiation, but at the time they didn’t have much to offer mates.

In that same window Exxon dissolved the officers union. Shortly there after starting pay for 3 mates dropped by the thousands and the time off was cut drastically.

Didn’t Mobil have an in-house union? Oil and Atomic Energy Workers or along those lines?

East coast was in house union. West coast was separate. Company hired, all benefits from company, but we were “represented” by MEBA. Unlicensed was same arrangement with SUP. Chevron had similar arrangements.
