Tropical Storm Carlotta has formed over the Tropical East Pacific about 515 NM southeast of Acapulco, Mexico. Currently Carlotta has max winds of about 40kts although squalls to 50 knots are possible. Carlotta was moving northwest (325deg) at about 8 knots. Carlotta is currently under light wind shear and over warm ocean water so fairly rapid intensification is forecast reaching hurricane strength in 24-36 hours as it approaches the coast of Mexico.
