Hopefully nobody tells him that mil-spec means “manufactured by the lowest bidder” or the budget over-runs will be HUUUUUGE. 
Since literally everything Trump does or has ever done is a failure, this will be the bigliest, most wonderful, first in the world, best idea that anyone has ever seen - in a toilet.
Well there won’t be one named after John McCain or any other former POW since POTUS thinks POWs aren’t war heroes and he likes people who weren’t captured.
Based on the LCS vessels and the NSMVs I don’t know how anybody can really put any faith in American naval architects or shipyards ever again.
If even ONE of these are actually built, I’d be amazed.
Aside from how long they took to build/price what’s wrong with the NSMV’s?
When I toured it was just such a stupid layout inside. One thing that really irked me was how the emergency exits on the main deck (below the lifeboats) were labeled as such, but the doors cannot open even half way before they smash into mushroom vents, blocking any traffic on the deck and causing a pileup at the door.
Or that the main ladderwell has those stupid doors on them that can’t be left open because they forgot to air condition the ladder wells.
I remember asking someone if those doors are supposed to be closed like that or if they were working on them/testing something, and I got an eyeroll and a “yeah… we were told these are supposed to be open and close in the event of a fire. They fucked up but it is what it is..”
Someone also said they messed up wiring the clocks, so the master clock on the bridge, when adjusted, only syncs up a few clocks on the officer’s berthing decks but none of the others.
Nah this was done to justify a Youngie’s existence. If you have 50 people on a bridge watch you need to be able to send at least 5 down on “clock watch” and make sure everything is sync’d up correctly!
