The 69-metre-long trawler, which belongs to Lerøy Havfiske in Ålesund, was in for service at the shipyard when the accident occurred.

• It is now un-docked and the floating dock has been raised. Today we are going down with divers to inspect the trawler. It has got a couple of bunkers, but it does not take in water, says Opsjøn Langset.

He does not want to speculate as to what is the reason for it suddenly being struck in the dock.

• It is a little too early to say what the cause is. Docking is always a critical situation, where no mistakes can be made. We must try to find the reason why this has happened and take the necessary measures to ensure that this does not happen again. But when you run a shipyard, mistakes can occasionally happen, and you have to learn from it and take measures to prevent that from happening again, he says.
• The trawler must go up anyway, it must be serviced. We also need to go through our dock to see if it is capable of taking the trawler. We have to be sure that everything is as it should be there too, even if it wasn’t the dock that tipped over. We may have to find an alternative dock for the shipping company and send our personnel there. We have a very good dialogue with the shipping company.
