Just now on the local Los Angeles news. They showed a video of 27 tankers on the hook (was quite out of the ordinary looking) just outside the Port of Los Angeles. Apparently the USCG is getting a lot of complaint calls. They assured the public that they are closely monitoring the vessels and all is good.
Anyone looked at Galveston lately? Those anchorages are packed too. Wonder why that’s not on the news.
The public is calling to complain? STFU.
“Hello Coast Guard, this is citizen Joe Smo. I see the anchorage is getting kind of full, it’s making me feel uncomfortable & I was wondering what you plan on doing about it?”
Things like this is one of the reasons why I never want a job where I would be responsible for dealing with the public. I wouldn’t make to lunch hour without being fired. I feel sorry for those poor souls who have to put up with snowflake idiots.
Paint a Red Cross on them, call them hospital ships and the public will never be the wiser.
They see something they have never seen before, so it isn’t surprising.“Sir, rest assured the USCG is checking on those ships daily to make sure they are safely anchored. Being anchored is routine for ships and there is no danger. Where do you think the gas in your car comes from you freaking moron!”
So OK I got fired too.
Here is a story from the LA Times about it.
You’re forgetting unemployed gangs of disgruntled train engineers who might be offended at the sight of all those red crosses.
I forgot that. They constitute a target-rich environment. Hate to be living near the end of railroad spur within 20 miles of the harbor…
There’s my second chuckle today.
