I was just wondering how this affects the maritime industry. I work in the oilfield, so the spike in oil prices means a lot of work for us, obviously its not worth whats going on in Ukraine but does something like this slow down your industry?
It will affect us if our Ukrainian crews can’t get home or back to work.
I returned home a few days ago. My relief was Ukrainian, I was expecting him to not appear. He is from Odessa and left his wife and 2 children, He was expecting his wife to pack belongings in a car and get to Romania, 300 km away.
My employers are reducing the number of west Europeans and relying more on Russians and Ukrainians. And Burmese and Indians from Asia.
I won’t be going back early if some Ukrainians cannot get out of the country.
