This post is not for deckies. If you have a deck license, I’m not interested in your opinion of this. Engineers, please weigh in.
If a twin screw boat is constructed with outboard turning wheels (which for us deckies is not ideal for maneuvering) why can’t we correct the problem by changing the controls and swapping out the propellers? The gear ratios are the same forward and reverse, so I don’t see why we can’t just change what we call each gear.
