[B]I do not think it is if, but when our jobs will be automated[/B]. Of course there will always be a need for maintenance but the time is coming.
Just like the guys that can’t put the boat beside the dock or in the slip without DP. A joke, too bad that there isn’t a module for boat handling to get a ticket.
Maybe it will be a combination of automation and remote operation, i.e. sitting in a room commanding the ship in a simulator type setting using real time video feed. You could stand your watch and go home every night.
