What’s guys. I hope everything is well. I have my AB unlimited with tankerman PIC. Would I have any luck landing a tankerman position joining the SIU. I currently live in Jacksonville, Fl and I totally forgot there is a union hall there. Any opinions or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Might be hard if your card is brand new, but when I worked on a tanker our ABs were SIU with tankerman assist. Join now so your card gets older I guess. The guys on my ship were happy with SIU for the most part.
Ships don’t use tankermen so you don’t really get paid tankerman pay like on tugs. You might join the Union and see if any ATBs needed tankermen though.
