Valid, but a legitimate argument to this is that ships come in to anchorages with “too much” steam on all the time. Hard to tell if they’re going to back hard and drop the hook or T-bone you sometimes. And let’s face it, the last thing you’d expect is to be rammed at anchor… it’s not the kind of situation that the bridge team is going to be primed and ready for.

(Edit: disregard most of this… just saw the Solong was doing 16 knots. I’d hope somebody on the Immaculate would have seen that as an issue and raise the alarm if it was coming at them)
