I dunno. A floating server/data center would need massive duplex generators if offshore. We’re talking the need for 100% reliability which is much more challenging disconnected from the grid. If Google is afraid of earthquakes, they don’t need to go to sea. Just set up a network of strategically placed interconnected datacenters around the world.
I’m guessing these are going to be prison barges like the one in NYC.
