But if the government could reduce the amount of people in need, wouldn that be a good thing?

USA is actually using almost as much on social expenditure in % of gnp as Norway, only problem is that you are doing a piss poor job with the money.
No argument on that. Most over every dollar spent on social programs is wasted on administration. The nonprofits spend 50-90 percent on administration and advertising
Well I managed to get this thread more off topic then c.captain could possibly manage.
no worries mate…jumping the tracks with a thread makes them interesting and creates worthwhile discussion. Who would give a rat’s ass for a thread which literally was only about curled charts?

True. As an example the Wounded Warriors Project is one of the better nonprofits as they spend only about 6 % on administrative expenses but a whopping 34% goes to fundraising. I’d rather pay my money directly to the woefully underfunded VA and I do. Their administrative expenses are very low and if they were properly funded there would be no need for the Wounded Warrior Project. If our “leaders” cannot take care of our veterans they should quit buying planes, ships and tanks until they figure out how to take care of the people they promised to take care of.
