In the mid 1980’s there was a teledrama produced about the race for the pole for broadcast on the BBC in Britain and on PBS in the US. As a mariner with a keen interest in the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration, I remember watching it when originally broadcast and to this day believe it to be one of the finest historical films ever released.
