A large area of showers and thunderstorms over the westernCaribbean Sea could become a tropical cyclone by early next week….http://oceanweatherservices.com/blog/?p=807&preview=true
Could someone please describe how menacing the weather has to get before
offshore supply vessels stay in port?
Pretty bad… November storms can rival a hurricane, but blow by pretty quick. Depends on the boat, the crew, the captain, and the rig it’s going to. Now as for when an actual hurricane is coming, we all scatter for safe harbor or at least start planning for it 48-72 hours out or more depending on the company.
Now, if you’re talking crew boats, 3’ chop and they cry about it being too rough to leave port.
