So, quid pro quo
As I suggested. Confront him yourself.
Thanks for responding.

The left eats itself… Love it.
What is that supposed to mean? As opposed to right eats itself or maybe middle eats itself? Nonsensical.
There’s a lot to unpack
First of all - as you see in this forum - mariners don’t bullshit each other. Many love to fight. This is fine (even good) aboard ship but hurts us politically
As for the broader industry…. We are living on fumes. Nearly all subsidies and support have been pulled. What this means is giving money to one contingency is like throwing a steak in a kennel of starving dogs… everyone will fight over it
Another problem is we are always on the defensive to protect the ja. This is needed because the government keeps handing out exemptions. What this means for non-ja issues is we are always on a defensive footing. Defense isn’t a good footing for advancing our mutual interests
Without denigrating the Merchant Marine in the slightest, I think you would be astonished by the casualty rate of the submarine services of all the major combatants.
Was the US the same global power at the time? The UK and France were recovering from WW I and believed a post -Versailles Germany was not a threat despite obvious evidence to the contrary.
The US attempted diplomatic and economic pressure on Japan to realign their desire for Asian unity (the Japanese Army truly believed that was the mission although Nanking would have said otherwise) which then pushed the Imperial government, driven by expansionist Army officers, to war against the US, the UK, France, and the Netherlands. None of that worked out well.
So if we KNOW pulling back and letting the world burn is bad, what IS our current policy? Are we better off diplomatically / strategically today or six years ago? Fifteen years ago?
When did it really begin? How have we gotten here with Trump and Harris? All I know is what I can see and from even the backwoods of Michigan it isn’t good. Families who were neighbors for literally generations won’t talk to each other, political signs in a yard are the spark for physical assault, and holiday meals are the cause of arguments. I am pretty sure that is not how this is supposed to work.
I do know Trump kicked Congress in the a$$ and we have a new lock under construction at the Soo…so, I see that as a positive. It was a job that needed doing, but I need more than that to vote for the man and I need more than “First black/Asian woman” (or whatever the reason is) to vote for Harris.
But in his defense, he has built eight EV charging stations at a cost of slightly less than one billion a station. (And yes, I know, no political party has the monopoly on wasteful spending.)
The part about this that everyone leaves out was the 7.5b was for 500,000 by 2030.
Do I think that will happen- no, do I think it will be more than 7 -yes.
Submariners were not a separate branch of service but connected to their respective countries navies
Just to be honest, I looked up that “org” and from what I read on their page, I wouldn’t trust them one bit more than Qanon, or whatever that bunch is called. Anytime I read “stuff” that totally leans one way, I tend to dismiss them.
Well it’s election season & if your time is valuable I’ll give you a little advice that you’d figure out on your own after a half dozen political threads & 2 dozen link clicks. This place isn’t for the middle of the road kind of guy & it’s either one way or the other. Very few The Far Side, The Onion or Alfred E Neuman links to follow when it comes to politics. Everyone is trying to persuade or prove something. And if that Trump fella is re-elected then just check out for a few years because every current, former or wannabe mariner who won’t go to a support group or can’t afford a therapist will be on here letting it all hang out with a bunch of nonsense.
Can’t you guys just go back to the “I’ll move to Canada” bullshit.
Jeezus.
Trump may have mocked vets, his mouth filter is broken, unfortunately, but I seriously doubt Vance would ever have anything bad to say about vets, being a Marine who spent time in Iraq. Just saying.
I take you you ain’t MAGA? But that’s what’s great about the US, you are allowed an opinion. Except people like me. I have been declared a “domestic terrorist” because I attend church and eat a Cracker Barrel. Not to long ago, "certain people were asking banks to “report” anyone using their credit card to order Bibles or firearms and ammo online. So there’s that.
Uh huh, sure.
I, nor any of my family, have never had any issue related to our church attendance, faith, or where we eat; but then we live on the West Coast, which I think tends to be more tolerant and inclusive. Perhaps you live in a part of the country that is less accepting. If so I’m sorry you live in a part of the country where some people support efforts to favor one particular kind of worship or belief at the expense of all the others.
in their defense- Cracker Barrel does show a complete lack of judgement combined with a blatant disregard for the results of your actions - prime terrorist traits.
Cracker Barrel sells biohazzards, so where else do you expect terrorists to go? I think last time I ate there I destroyed more than one bathroom with gas attacks!
So how is it you are loose and posting and not in jail?
