I am sorry but that video was exceedingly BORING!

Still boring but not as boring as the first video. I want to see the damned thing dive and surface with the pilot still alive!

They’re underwater at a rock quarry in this one.

That’s much better…it does appear that they lived to tell the tale but I certainly would not want to be the test pilot there! Not much of a chance to escape if it went blub and never resurfaced.

lol…I don’t think I’d want to be the test pilot either. One thing though, I’ll certainly give them some credit. It took a lot of skill and engineering to make the sub.

Delta Oceanographicshas a manned submersible that is not much bigger out here on the West Coast which NOAA chartered once and it dove off the research vessel I was on at the time. When I saw the thing up close I simply could not believe the thing would dive to 1000’! NOT WITH ME IN IT THAT’S FOR SURE!

Two men submerge, one couple surfaces.

Engineering you say, eh?

Just wondering how much thought went into using a pressure vessel that was designed for greater internal pressure than exterior pressure, in an application that has greater exterior pressure than interior pressure.

Hull penetrators appear to be simple welded fitments with no reinforcement of hull skin thickness in the area of the welds.

Soft ballast vent lines appear to be made of reinforced nylon tubing?

I think they read an article in Popular Mechanics and decided to have some fun and see if they could build one of their own. Seriously doubt they will be taking it down below 40 ft - if that.

That quarry is awesome and inviting, and now I can’t wait to go diving again…
