Paula Update

Hurricane Paula is a very small storm with a 10 mile diameter eye and hurricane force winds extending only about 15 NM from the center and 50Kt winds outward only 20NM. Paula is forecast to turn northeastward then eastward and weaken as it begins to move under increasing upper-level westerly winds. Paula is forecast to move over the western portions of Cuba and dissipate during the next 3-4 days. A slightly more northerly track, however could prolong the timing of the strong winds across Cuba and the Florida Straits as far north as the southern Keys.
