I never said the ACA was “bad”. I just pointed out the Democrats with no Republicans votes nearly criminalized poor people for being too poor to buy the overpriced insurance pushed upon them. Then the Republicans voted unanimously to repel that part of the ACA. Then the Republicans voted unanimously to lift a tax burden from the working poor & middle class by letting them keep their O.T & tip pay tax free. All the Democrats hate it & vote unanimously against it. Am I missing something? Seems to me the Democrats absolutely hate the working poor & middle class?
When did this happen?
When you’re almost there…
Yes, the U.S. should have socialized medicine.
It happened last week, the bill that would give the working poor & middle class no tax O.T & no tax tips & greatly increased SALT deductions passed the House of Representatives by a single vote without 1 SINGLE Democrat voting “for”, all against. I know, I know, hard to believe the Democrats in the House unanimously dislike the working poor & middle class so much but its true. The partisan politics will be the same in the Senate but there’s not enough Democrats in the Senate to kill it. Hopefully 100% of the tips that I give to the waiters & kitchen staff in the back of the restaurant stays in their pockets. I know this makes Democrats & left leaning voters boil but I really hope it happens, they deserve it imo.
You made it seem as if they voted against only one thing when it was the entire bloated bill they were opposed just as many Republican senators are now, at least on the surface. Misleading propaganda promotion move but if you take your information at face value from “The White House” it’s understandable.
The “White House” website doesn’t mention the lowered taxes on tips and overtime will expire in 2028 as the bill is written. So they aren’t really serious they just use this as a selling point and a distraction for the gullible. Kind like the car dealer offering free undercoating on a $80,000 truck that is normally $78000.
Universal health care. The word social or any derivative triggers the mind of the programmed, causes mental problems not covered under the current health care scheme
I see the No Tax on Tips Bill passed the senate after they made sure that bribes can count as tips.
If a rider could be added that would give the Military Industrial Complex an extra trillion dollars, 1/2 of all Democrats would be forced by their employers to vote “yes” on it.
This is hardly the same Democrat party of the 70’s.
True, but that was not the point of my observation, which was an answer to a challenge of yours.
I was today years old when I saw how to use the “Ignore” function. Dipsh*ts…neutralized.
Why in the world do you think the no tax on tips makes Democrats and leaning voters boil? I’m no Democrat but I definitely lean left, supporting single payer health care for all etc. I’m all for no tax on tips or OT for lower income folks. And actually BOTH parties support that as well. Check this out:
https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/129/cosponsors
The recent no tax on tips bill that was proposed in the Senate last month had bipartisan sponsors. As much as you want to believe that Democrats suddenly want to tax low income people and are somehow especially beholden to military industrial complex compared to Republicans it just isn’t the case. Democrats are against tax cuts specifically for the rich. They’ve got no issue with tax cuts for low income folks.
and they decided in a bipartisan way that the ‘no tax on tips’ would only last 2 years while the tax breaks and giveaways to the wealthy would be permanent. Screw both parties and their f#*kery.
Because not a single Democrat in the House voted for them. When the Democrats were in charge of all 3 branches of government they never proposed such great ideas. Because they hate Trump & Republicans so much & the thought of them being champions of the working poor & middle class by giving them tax breaks enrages Dems to a boil. I know, I know, the Democrats now claim to want fiscal responsibility but almost every one of them voted for every Ukraine/M.I.C give away bill & the renamed Green New Deal without mentioning cost. But wouldn’t you know it, no tax tips/O.T for those who make under $160k & increased SALT deductions for those under $500k & it’s fiscal responsibility time for the Democrats? Pretty obvious to me.
Yep, it’s bullshit politics. A pay to play for the American voters. If the Senate Democrats do as the House Democrats & vote 100% against, it will be brought up during mid-terms & next presidential elections. Radio, TV & internet campaign adds telling folks if they want to continue to keep their O.T/tip money & increased SALT deductions, they need to keep voting for the party that wants them to have it which isn’t the Democrats. The dummy Dems will probably keep campaigning on the transgen in sports, pro-open boarder, unlimited money for Ukraine platforms.
Politics aside I hope it passes. Just ran the numbers and I’d be looking at about an $8000 tax cut.
Good for you bro. Good for all working Americans that can benefit from it. That’s the thing with tax breaks. The only people who benefit from them are people who work to pay taxes. It’s your money! For sure, Republican politicians create a lot of wasteful spending & run deficits. The Democrats do the same exact thing. If any politician or left leaning voter tells you they don’t like the no tax on tips/OT & increased SALT deductions because of deficits then they are talking out of their ass & really don’t want you keeping your $8,000. There’s about 100 threads on gCaptain forum about Ukraine & giving that country free money but pro-Ukraine war commenters never mentioned deficits. Now there’s a bill where you get to keep $8,000 of your own money & that same pro-war crowd is against it because of pork & deficits? BS! The truth is they just don’t want you keeping your own money.
Hopefully you know better than that. The biggest tax breaks go to people that don’t work. Even Warren Buffet admits that.
I am currently a non working citizen and my tax rate is much lower than when I worked even though my income has barely changed. My tax filing just takes more pages is all.
Is it fair? Nope but that’s how the people with more money than me had their employees in congress make the laws.
According to AI that I just asked, about 80% of the population of the US makes less than $150,000 a year. That should be a close percentage for those who make less than $160k which is the House cap for no tax tips/OT. That SALT deduction increase is higher at $500k, which isn’t millionaires or billionaires either. The House version of the One Big Beautiful Bill also has provisions for tax breaks on the elderly & earned income credit for child care for the working poor. So yes, these OT, Tips, SS & SALT tax breaks are for the working class. To say “screw this tax-break bill” that benefits so many of the working poor & middle class to spite the upper class, when no spending bills were opposed the 4 years when Biden was POTUS & Dems had control is complete & utter, fabricated bullshit. The Dems just don’t want the 80% & the elderly to get tax breaks. The renamed Green New Deal (Inflation Reduction Bill) benefitted the millionaire & billionaires greatly, it was well documented. For Dems & left leaning voters to suddenly grow a concern about tax breaks for billionaires & millionaires is completely made up.
You really need to do more than your congress critter and read the actual bill. Granted it is hard to get as they are loathe to release it to the public but if you do as I did and ask your representative to give you a copy or you will publish their refusal to do so they might send you the 1000+ page copy . Until then you are only making suppositions based on political BS and propaganda. READ THE BILL. If you cannot get a copy from your representative never vote for them again because they have something to hide. But in actuality the house bill will not resemble the senate bill if it ever happens.
