New Zealand work?

Does anybody Know of a way to get some work in NZ? I used to live there when traveling years ago and would love to move back. I cant find any info on jobs over there. I just wanted to work on a tug towing wood or ship assist. It may not be realistic I just miss it there. I have my oceans indorsement and am just getting my500 ton master. I guess since it is domestic I would be using my 200ton Oceans. I just thought I would look into it before I settle down up here in PNW. Also is there any american captains running boats in Panama anymore?

Cheers, sorry for the random Question. My wife and I are buying a home next year and there are a couple places I would rather live.

No Honky Tonk Just show tunes

Hi all,

First time poster, long time reader.

Many companies in New Zealand are actively looking to recruit foreigners at the moment. I just interviewed with Silver Fern a couple weeks back for a C/O position on their coastal tankers. Basically, they seem to be looking for foreigners to immigrate there, as of course to work in New Zealand you require a work visa, as well as Maritime New Zealand certificates. I was told I would need to submit my national documents, and take a nav safety oral exam to qualify for a Kiwi COC, you also need a company sponsor.

There have been a few companies advertising on http://jobs.nautilusint.org/jobs/. Mostly for tankers/ferries/harbor masters if I remember. But I have not checked in a while.

You can check out http://www.sfsl.co.nz/ they operate 2 coastal tankers.

Cheers and good luck
