If you are licensed, understand that Local 333 is a deckhand/tankerman union, prepare for grub receipts being posted and wifi as your two main bargaining agreements, nothing is gonna change until the licensed branch off and get their own union.

Having personally worked alongside the proud union sailors of NY harbor. I was saddened to see the mismanagement of a once proud and strong union, when I see disgruntled crews with 30 years of dues paid and such a sour attitude it makes me wonder the direction we will sail in the future. Unions saved the USMM. No doubt they gave us the high wages we deserved and the benefits without having to come to blows directly with our employers. The UMD Local 333 books should be carried with pride. So much blood sweat and tears has given by the men and women that have worked under its contracts.
