I know this is a controversial topic but if you had to do it over again which union would you choose, if any? Also has anyone had a positive experience with MEBA as a Mate? (These would all be as a 3rd mate). Are there any jobs for a 3/M in the halls right now or would I primarily be night-mating?
Depends on where you live - if you live close to a hall, it’s doable to join MMP or MEBA. Be ready to sit there for a while - I sat at the MEBA hall for 2 months, not one 3/m job came in. Jumped ship to AMO, got a job. Not saying it’s any better - but you don’t have to sit in a hall all day long looking for a job.
