MEBA or AMO

Graduating in June 2023 with 3 A/E unlimited license looking for jobs with good pay and consistent. I want to join a union not sure which one, what are your thoughts/experiences.

A retired AMO chief told me when I had one foot out the gate — “apply everywhere, take whatever pops up but don’t feel obligated to make that your home.”

MEBA jobs are on average higher paying.
MEBA junior officers rotary ship out of the union halls and rarely go back to the same ship or company twice.

AMO doesn’t use a physical hall. (There are pros and cons of using and not using physical halls.)
AMO jobs are almost always permanent employment.

MEBA still has a real pension.

They’re are pros and cons to both. Now is a good time to be starting out and building seniority because there aren’t enough people for the jobs currently.
