When he was for Trump & later against him, Pence plays his cards too close to his chest & is too uncharismatic to be an effective leader on the national stage imo. I think Trump picked Pence in '16 to help win the rust belt/midwest states & show some balance to his lunacy. Harris ripped that page from Trump’s playbook by picking Walz but even with the media & Hollywood pulling for them they couldn’t make the play work. Actually, I think Harris would have done better if her handlers picked Pence instead of Walz. She probably would have still lost but maybe not as bad?
