Positive safety observations can be a stupid thing.
Safety observations should be for real safety issues.
But to meet safety observation key performance indicators you see lots of repetitive positive safety observations e.g. good teamwork, good communication, good use of PPE…
These kind of positive safety observations are pretty pointless and they defeat the purpose of a safety observation system.
90% of this “safety, safety, safety” business is useless pencil whipped paperwork that’s mostly done just for show to give the appearance of safety without spending any money on better equipment, better actual safety training, or more crew.
That’s just a shakedown for bribes.
