Im starting to see more and more maritime people, on social media, try to become known influencers. Some have great information to share, some are doing amazing things, and some just want the attention. I see people like Captain Kate, Capt James Fong, Capt Hagerty and Capt Thomas all speaking and sharing their journeys and stories. What is the consensus? Im sure they all get compensated.
Cool concept I suppose. Shedding light on an industry that has been in the dark for much of modern time. Could possibly help with mariner recruitment down the road. But boy does it take a different breed of confidence to show up on your first day and set up a camera tripod so you can take a picture of yourself fake driving the boat… to each their own.
