Why does land-locked Switzerland worry about it’s maritime carbon footprint?:
Here may be a good reason:
Switzerland is not a member of the EU, but it does most of it’s trading through and with the EU and most of the ships owned or controlled from Switzerland are registered in EU countries, or call regularly at EU ports.
