IJS will hold heading, thats part of the class spec.
Its pretty obvious the ijs was not working
The only things that hasnt been published is was it on hire with a dead ijs or did it die with the DP failure?

No experience holding a boat manually in anything other then docking, if even that…
That boat might have had 4 z drives, but its not like its a square drilling rig with 2 pontoons needing all drives to make it do anything. Like @Kraken said flip the bitch into the seas and you would have no problem holding it in place. Not like you have to hold it at a certain heading like you are next to a rig and working with a crane. Just use the stern drives and let the bow weather vave.
