Is this the beginning of a whole new trend?

Is the time finally drawing near for the cold stacking and ultimate scrapping of all old drill rigs and ships? How many 70’s and 80’s built shyte still working out there ready to be finally & permanently retired from the industry? A whole pile by my figuring and about time too!

Transocean Cold Stacks Drillship
Transocean has cold stacked the Discoverer 534 (DW drillship). The rig, which is rated to work in water depths up to 7,000 feet, entered service in 1975 and was significantly upgraded in 1991. Reliance Industries was the last operator to contract the unit.
