I have been taught several different ways to compute time of tides and speed of currents on a given day. I am now showing other people how to do this. I have found it easiest just to use table 3 in the up to date Tide Tables and Tidal Current Tables. I can’t remember if the complete Pubs are in the REC, or is it just the pages you need for the test. I do not want to show people how to use table 3 , if it isn’t published in the 1983 pubs.
ANyone know if table 3 is in the REC?

Yes, I know.
Your academy has been preparing you for close to 4 years to take the license exam, and didn’t tell you what materials will be available to you? If that’s true, maybe you should plan on using the method they taught you.
You can find the answer here: http://www.uscg.mil/nmc/training/pdfs/deck_and_engineering_guide.pdf

Too late to edit my post above. Excuse the heavy sarcasm about your academy. I stupidly overlooked that I was in the “hawse-pipe” forum.

I used table 3 in the Charleston REC, my shipmate used it in Baltimore, both during the same week in March 2014.
