No worries that the Brazilians will ever become a shipbuilding power unless they also import managers and labor from Korea to actually build the ships:
RIO DE JANEIRO (Dow Jones)–The transportation arm of Brazilian state-owned energy giant Petroleo Brasileiro (PBR), or Petrobras, has suspended a contract to purchase 16 vessels from the Estaleiro Atlantico Sul shipyard, which last week delivered its first tanker nearly two years late.
So much for building all those drillships in Brazil. Korea is guaranteed new drillship work now till the end of the decade and perhaps longer.
And the music just keeps playing and playing, on and on and on…
