Harkand goes under

Hello! Been hearing that Harkand has officially entered administration. Their website is down right now as well…

Anyone know what is going to happen to their boats and backlog? I assume the Siem Spearfish will go back to Siem but I dunno how that will all play out seeing that the vessel has been ordered seized by Bollinger Fourchon…

I do not find anything reported in the media. Does this apply to Harkand Gulf Services LLC, Houston, or the entire Harkand Group according to your sources?

Not entirely sure, I read about it on an ROV facebook group I am part of. Some guy from Maersk was saying they were now looking for a new DSV for their project which I can only assume is that one that was awarded to Harkand not too long ago. No idea about the Houston operation but according to that article they owe money in the GOM as well…

It appears to be confirmed, Harkand Group is in Administration: http://www.oilandgaspeople.com/news/8409/harkand-group-goes-under-with-up-to-1000-job-losses/

I have seen a Harkand DSV newbuilding sitting at Soviknes yard with not much sign of activity, so was wondering.
Here in early Jan.:

And last week:

Vard could end up with yet another expensive vessel on their hand.

Somebody with deep pockets and and a vision for the future could make a good purchase here.

Looks like the North American and West African divisions were saved by the Management team and formed a new company.
