What a sad state of affairs it is when our country is lead by idiots like that and a President who is not a Citizen of The United States…

So long as his mother was a US citizen, then he is a US Citizen. Regardless of where he was born. I have lots of direct experience with the requirements. I have a whole lot of issues with the current president. Whether or not he is a citizen of the US isn’t one of them.
Thanks Steve, I was starting to thinkI was the only one who believes he meant it. I’m not usually very gullable either but after watching it twice I’m sure he was seriouis
You know Daniel, I am a firm believer that everyone on this earth should be held accountable for his or her actions…positive actions as well as negative actions. But how can that man be held accountable if it is true what they say that he is not all there? And if he is not all there, why is he still in office? If he can’t be held accountable because he is not all there then who should be held accountable? Do the folks in his district that elected him know that he is mentally challenged? If they do know, is he still in office because they feel sorry for him? Question after question can be asked about this particular issue. The end point being that he should not be in the position of power that he is in. There are so many people that are in positions of power in our government that should not be there that it’s mind boggling to contemplate. That is why my hat goes off to that Admiral that did not even twitch when he replied to Johnson’s ridiculousness…<!–[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:PunctuationKerning/> <w:ValidateAgainstSchemas/> <w:SaveIfXMLInvalid>false</w:SaveIfXMLInvalid> <w:IgnoreMixedContent>false</w:IgnoreMixedContent> <w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText>false</w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <w:DontGrowAutofit/> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]–><!–[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:LatentStyles DefLockedState=“false” LatentStyleCount=“156”> </w:LatentStyles> </xml><![endif]–><style> <!-- /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:“Times New Roman”; mso-fareast-font-family:“Times New Roman”;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Sec</style>

Man Steve, that is so refreshing to hear…It seems the older I get the more I keep running into people that are perpetual victims…Self proclaimed mind you, but very content to blame their problems and actions on others or poor decisions…When did this become acceptable?
The “puppies” and “tree hugging” listed on your profile interests does explain your conservative-o-phobia though. Wait no, Repubs like puppies too(gundogs) as long as they are not blue. But the tree hugging still applies.
I’m not sure why one would think liking puppies equates me with being ‘conservative-phobic’. And yes, I like trees, and if the choice comes to cutting them down or letting them grow, I’ll generally side with the trees. I am phobic to bullsh*t, be it from either side of the political spectrum. What I saw from the congressman in discussion here does concern me (and I agree that the Admiral’s response was oh-so-subtly funny), but, you have to admit the whole BS about the bill requiring lifejackets for visitors (with a nod to the bail out, even) sure sounds like Tea Party rhetorical nonsense, which is why I asked.

Only if the USA Citizen parent filed the paperwork in the country of birth at the USA Embassy and it was approved and a “Certificate of Birth Abroad of a US Citizen” and US Passport issued. For the record I accept he was born in Honolulu.

Actually, the Consular Certificate isn’t required. It IS a convenience. Again, I have been through this personally. Not in a way you would imagine (nor me either at the time). My girlfriend (who sounds more Texan than most folks here) was born on Yap., but brought over to the States and raised here in Texas since she was four or so. Well, a few of years ago we were heading down to Mexico on vacation, so I went to get her passport. After the agent at the Post Office told me that her TTPI birth certificate was okay, I sent the documents in. Well, not only was the TTPI birth certificate not okay, TTPI didn’t exist anymore. I would need the Consular Certificate. Well, those weren’t issued in the TTPI. Great. That then required a whole other host of documents to be gathered and submitted, finally being approved a year later (kind of like getting a license these days). Oh, and two payments of expediting fees. Long story short, even in the absence of a Consular Verification of Birth, you are a natural born US Citizen if one parent is a US Citizen.
