Sadly, you’ve got to get the FCC license (fairly fast) and the USCG GMDSS endorsement (probably very slow) before you are good to go.
Take the course , don’t take element 7 through Nemo . Submit the course cert to FCC and they will send you your FCC license
This seems like the most solid course of action. I was told to take element 1 online and pass before starting the class at MPT. Anyone else done this?
They used to just knock everything out at MITAGS in the class as a one-shot. Still worth going in person, IMO, just to get it done and over with. Pass the class, take the FCC exam right in class, go home. While I recognize that online is handy, the material is a mix of antiquated info and rote memorization that would be a slog to do on your own.
Yeah I get that too. I booked the class and they specifically said “you need element 1 done before you show up” and I thought to myself man that’s half of it dose the other half really take two weeks haha? Going to figure it out and at the end of the day like you said just get it over with!
