Human Error ID’d in Mediterranean Ro-Ro’s Collision with Containership
According to Tunisian, French and Cypriot investigators who revealed their findings on Monday, the investigation revealed that the watch officer on board the Tunisian ro-ro Ulysse was alone on the bridge and on his phone, far away from radar, at the time of the collision early on October 7th.
Forum thread here: Oops, T-boned - Ferry ULYSSE and Container Ship CSL VIRGINIA,
I followedthe link int he article - to a Ghanaian news site - claiming Agence FrancePresse sources. Search in AFP site itself shows nothing. A lot of this seems to be from the Tunisians, but no link to an actual Tunisian report.
I checked BEA-Mer (French equivalent of NTSB/MAIB) and the incident is listed as “enquête technique est ouverte conjointement avec nos homologues chypriotes, tunisiens et italiens.” = technical inquiry is open in conjunctin with our Cypriot,Tunisian. italian colleagues.
Is there a link to anything official fro Tunisians?
