Can anyone answer this question in regards to the Furuno GPS 150 which feeds the Furuno Ecdis. I read that the GPS 150 is at the end of its life cycle, although Furuno still supports it. Does the ship have to upgrade the Furuno 150 GPS and if so when.
Like a lot of stuff, the 2nd GPS 1024-week rollover killed it, I think…

So I received an e-mail back from Furuno and they said that as long as the time is correct on the GPS it’s still ok to use. The vessel has 2 Furuno 150’s and my question what do I have to do if the GPS time goes out while vessel is at sea.
I had an issue with both Furuno GPS and AIS at rollover - time good, date wrong - but the big problem was the data to ECDIS was rejected as invalid.
Add shipping and ~60% duty for supply to a vessel in Bangkok - expensive replacement!
