Almost as stirring as the closing to “Action in the North Atlantic” where the “Bridge of Ships” speech by Franklin Roosevelt is make behind the footage of our wartime merchant shipbuilding miracle! Sadly, that’s not on the EweToobs, but this treasure is:

Great find, having these all in one place. Thanks. Found it to be pretty cool that they showed the sailors being dispatched out of the old NMU hall.

As the man says…“that isn’t a miracle…it’s American seamanship!”

How can any American merchant mariner watch this and not feel a deep swell of pride for the history and tradition of those who sailed the waters ahead of us and performed great feats of courage and endurance?

Goddammit! Why did I have to miss those incredible days when the US was triumphant and could accomplish anything?

btw, if anybody has a good movie editor, I’ll trade for a DVD of the film…
