Edmund J. Moran/Barbara Andrie

As far as I can tell, the Barbara Andrie, working on the lakes, is the former Edmond J. Moran who my Great Uncle skippered in the 1950’s and 60’s. I have heard so many stories from my grandfather about my great uncle and this boat. Has anyone worked aboard her? Is it really the 1940 vintage ocean tug? What kind of shape is she in now? I am thinking of a little vacation to Michigan in the hopes Andrie Marine may let me visit and check her out, maybe take some pics.

She’s the same boat. Here’s a link to tugboatinformation.com page about her. That is a really great site for information on Tugs and Tug Companies.

Thank you. I had read that link beforehand but I just found it hard to believe somehow. The alterations to the vessel appear quite extreme and the sheer age itself made me question. But I appreciate your assistance!

Did some ice breaking with her this winter, currently is sitting in Muskegon but recently (last week) was pushing one of the asphault barges down in Indiana Harbor.

She’s in great shape. She was in the yard I work at over the winter.
