Edison Chouest Boat C-Retriever Attacked Off Nigeria
The C-Retriever was never missing. It was being worked hours after the incident at a nearby platform offloading equipment. This article is absolute BS and non-sense, I can’t believe this made it on the news and no one actually had any factual information.
Fully agree this is a somewhat silly article, but what else has anyone done in recent days to try and keep the standard American appraised of the situation. Maybe where you are there is news about it, but not in my neck of the woods, having barely made the 5th page story in the paper. Would be nice to hear about the condition of the two men kidnapped, hopefully their families at least have been getting some info

Latest news from ABC:

US Company Negotiating With Pirates for Hostages Taken Off Nigeria
Looks like this story is gaining steam in the media. Saw a link on Drudgereport.com and Google news this morning.
Hopefully, a tall-can of whoop-ass is cracked open on these shitballs- in the meantime my thoughts and prayers go out to them.

I hope its a big can. Many prayers have been blessed. all I can say right now

Just read on ABC they were released over the weekend? They said Gary paid the ransom.

I heard he walked on water the whole way over there to pay it. All kidding aside, hope they are safe. I read something similar.

Now Gary needs to do some serious leaning on the US State Department to force those GODDAMNED Nigerians to protect his vessels with their EFFING US provided naval ship NNS THUNDER!

If this SHIT happens again, I hope the Gary flies in a team to capture the THUNDER! Eye for a FUCKING Eye and that ship would make an awesome yacht!

Same as the USCG Mellon & Midgett?

NBC reporting they were released.

What are they doing about the boat? That’s what I want to know. I’m glad we got our boys back but that’s by no means the end of the story. The news won’t report on it but I expect Missah Gary wants his boat back, as I damn well would too, and I expect he’d go to a lot of trouble to do it.

He may have paid the ransom for the Captain and the Chief Engineer but now that there’s no lives hanging immediately in the balance I think it’s safe to say some muthah truckahs are fixin’ to git dead over this one!

He never lost the fucking boat…god that NBC report makes my blood boil.

Ah I probably just read it wrong or heard some chit chat or something anyway… My bad!

Has anyone heard anything from the two Americans who were kidnapped? I’m really not surprised that ECO is still remaining silent on this situation, but what about the people who were kidnapped? I chatted with one of the family members a few weeks ago and he fully intended to talk with all the major news media as soon as his “brother” was released. But… everyone is still quiet.

I heard they were released and that was it. Nothing about the ship

The last marinetraffic.com position was on 11-12-13 heading S in the Niger Delta at 6 kts:

A guy on my boat asked our coordinator about the situation. … he had no clue that it had even happened lol when he was asked he said "when did that happen? " I guess they don’t even talk about it here in the office.

That’s just a standard coordinator response to any question they want to avoid. They knew.

Nigerian militants emailed us today noting that a $2 million ransom was paid: http://gcaptain.com/million-cash-paid-release-c-retriever/

Those machete-swinging nutjobs have email?

What, you’ve never received an email from a Nigerian before saying you’ve inherited $30,000,000?

Mine said I was distantly related to royalty…and it was only 3,000,000
