No one can possibly tell what BP knew and when because of their news blackout. It’s easy to tell that the knew something because of their news blackout. We just don’t know what, when, etc. So, how is it possible for anyone to think that they had determined that there were no leaks?
I agree we don’t know what BP thought they knew. We do know that the DWH lost it’s ability to dynamically position itself and bobbed around uncontrolled for 2 days and then sank - all the while this battleship sized rig was tethered to the well and putting much stress on the well bore and BOP
