Does anyone know how many american cruise ship captain there are?
Is there any disadvantage of being american mariner in terms of getting hired even as a mate on a cruise ship?
Forget it, there are virtually no U.S. cruise ship officers, the exception to the rule are those with an additional license from another country, Panama, etc.
There is one or two American flagged cruise ship that I know of in existence and they operate in Hawaii.
NCL is reflagging the last big US flagged cruise line. From what I understand there’s still small cruise ships that are US flagged.
