“and generally not be allowed to travel for work” Well if you want to stay home and not deploy this is better than a midnight knock on the door from a porn star.
Guess we see how this plays out in the next few days.
And, for the record, I’ve let my union rep at MM&P know, in no uncertain terms, that as a dues paying member I expect them to support mandatory vaccinations. I do not want them to side with the nutter’s “right” to infect others or inflict more damage on our nation by prolonging this pandemic. Enough is enough!
Look, MAK, the other day I asked one of my unvaccinated shipmates why he didn’t get the shots. He said the COVID vaccine prevents you from getting an erection and he wants to have more kids. I told him I got vaccinated months ago and I get erections just fine. If he doubts it I’d let his wife tell him so.
These people are just stupid. In my opinion we should do away with mandates so all these idiots can get sick, maybe die, and remove their gene pool from humanity.
I recently had a casual acquaintance approach me with a magnet which he placed on the injection site on my arm. He claimed that the shots were an underhanded way for nefarious forces to inject computer chips in people. He learned about it on the internet and was disappointed when nothing happened.
My family seen the magnet test on tv. I went to the kitchen, grabbed one off the fridge & it didn’t stick. So I used a piece of scotch tape rolled in a circle to get it to stay. Went back to the living room & the wife & kids flipped out, pointing & making all kinds of noise of shock & dismay. It was fun until my oldest son figured it out.
I know this is purely anecdotal & fuel for the anti-vaxxers but during my latest crewchange 3 of 18 people tested positive for covid19. All 3 were vaccinated. 2 were caught before leaving the US & 1 after landing out of the country & now stuck in a 3rd world health prison/hotel for 2 weeks. He’ll have to stay longer if he tests positive again so hopefully it isn’t one of those long haul positives cases because he can do months in the hotel prison.
Maybe the anti-vaxxers are still being careful to not catch covid while those who are vaccinated throw cations into the wind?
When someone tells me that they are vaccinated I ask to see the card, and I also ask what place they were vaccinated. Getting vaccinated is like getting married: you may forget the date, but you never forget the place. I caught one guy who lied, by asking where he got the vaccine. He had dummied up a card.
95% of our mariners are vaccinated. About 90% of the shoreside workers. No vaccination? Continue the masks and testing and ten-day quarantines before sailing…
We’ve had only two infections out of 110 workers in Seattle. Both last year. Both were sailors living in another part of the country, on their time off before they went into their two week quarantine. (Now, for vaccinated people, no quarantines needed.)
There’s something to be said about waiting for FDA approval before getting vaccinated. By taking the vaccines prior to full approval you waive your right to sue or take part in a class action suit should the vaccine, years down the road, prove harmful. If the vaccines are all above board and without serious side effects the approval should be expedited. Once there is approval a mandate from public or private parties becomes more workable. It also provides consumer protection that is not currently available.
the “vacine” has graphene and squalene in it. It is also labeled “experimental” . Big pharma is also protected from any and all lawsuits. but be sure to get your vaccine without any question because afterall the goverment is looking after your best interests lol lmao
You can’t sue vaccine manufacturers, which makes sense from a public health standpoint. Nobody would manufacture vaccines if they were going to be class actioned.
