Coast Guard responds to fire aboard fish processor in Westport, Wash

SEATTLE − The Coast Guard has begun a salvage response to a fish processor that caught fire at its pier in Westport, Wash., early Saturday morning.
[FONT=times new roman]The master of the fish processor was aboard the vessel at the time it caught fire, but no injuries have been reported. [/FONT]
[FONT=times new roman]The 131-foot fishing processor Juno caught fire at approximately 1:30 a.m.[/FONT]
[FONT=times new roman]Westport Fire Department personnel contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Grays Harbor in Westport for assistance fighting the fire.[/FONT]
[FONT=times new roman]Two 47-foot Motor Life Boat crews were launched to respond.[/FONT]
[FONT=times new roman]The fire was reported out at 4:05 a.m. There is thought to be approximately 5,000 gallons of firefighting water aboard, with 4 1/2 to 5 feet on deck, causing the vessel to list.[/FONT]
[FONT=times new roman]Members of the incident management division from Coast Guard Sector Columbia River in Warrenton, Ore., were dispatched to the scene to monitor the removal of the firefighting water and mitigate any potential environmental hazards caused by the vessel.[/FONT]
[FONT=times new roman]The cause of the fire is under investigation.[/FONT]
