Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Marine Engineer located in Houston, TX through July 27, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Chevron Shipping Company’s Marine Services Group will be filling a full-time Marine Engineer shoreside positions located in Houston, Texas.

This is a shore-based engineering/project management position providing engineering services for Chevron’s ocean-going vessels and upstream offshore projects that have floating systems or marine content including barges, drillships, floating facilities, and floating production, storage, and offloading vessels (FPSO’s).

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Provides marine and hull engineering services for Chevron’s upstream offshore projects that have floating systems or marine content.
Provides marine engineering technical support to Chevron Upstream projects in various development phases including early concept development phase, front end engineering phase, through design and construction phase.
Provides marine systems, equipment specification and hull support for ship-shape offshore facilities such as FPSOs/FSOs and marine systems support to non-ship shaped offshore facilities such as semi-submersible platforms, SPARs and TLPs.
Provides projects with requirements on marine standards and regulations in regards to FPSO’s/FSO’s and other floating facilities for upstream projects.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering.
5 to 10 years seagoing experience onboard ships in the engine/machinery area.
5 years direct experience in offshore project support/development.
Strong teamwork, facilitative leadership and the ability to form collaborative relationships with co-workers, project team members and external stakeholders to successfully address business challenges.
Occasional domestic and international travel, visits to ships and other offshore units.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidate ideally would have experience with FPSO/FSO project development and/or operations or other floating systems (e.g. TLP, Semi or SPAR).
Ability to take occasional temporary international assignment is desirable.
Master’s degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering.
