The Merchant Navy Training Board (MNTB) [a UK organization] has launched a new Careers at Sea website www.careersatsea.org
I am not sure how this differs from our drive to recruit young people here to go to sea, but some of the points they make surely help make this enticing:
-
you are paid while you learn (not only do they [the sponsoring company] pay for your tuition, they also pay a [pittance?] salary, but money nonetheless).
-
you get the chance to travel the world at someone
else’s expense (See the world…sounds good to me!) -
time off is measured in weeks and months not just days
-
your days are challenging and rewarding
-
you can quickly gain responsibility and a salary to match
-
there is a lifetime of personal development opportunities
