It was blowing a gale all weekend with gusts to 60 kts late Saturday and 50 kts Sunday morning. The inlet is shallow with meandering shoals and tricky currents that present a challenge even on a good day. The crew was fortunate to escape.
Word is a barge broke loose in the storm and the tug was trying retrieve it.
