Barge hit Pelican Island bridge this morning

I know forward visibility can be difficult in some places. But this trend of installing an additional bridge on the foredeck won’t actually help.
Is it just a US thing?

It looks like the barge hit well away from where the channel goes under the bridge. Loss of power likely.
