In short yes, gas prices are causing cutbacks and with some companies even layoffs. Yes some people are being laid off, but it is the people with a number of write ups and who generally cause the Managers and Coordinators headaches. Yes they are asking for volunteers to work even time, but it is a lot better than a pay cut. All this said, if you are a good employee, you will have nothing to worry about. If you are a slacker, then you may be getting a phone call.
