Another US tug mishap in BC

Yup also smack in the middle of the bloody Heiltsuk mafia territory again

I am growing seriously sick of this nonsense…

Hopefully, its a mechanical issue and not falling asleep. But, since i saw they are underway again probably not. 6/6 rearing it’s sleepy head again?

The track line suggests someone was asleep at the wheel and iron Mike maintained course. Hopefully that’s not the case.

It really is amazing that every study conducted on this schedule shows it’s unsustainable and usually at fault for tug accidents yet USCG continues to allow it. Gotta love lobbying.

I am assuming they were running light since no mention of a barge is made and there is no tow wire shown going over the stern in the photos

Regarding standing 6&6 watches, who here has done 4/4x8/8? It works…

Yep, it’s what keeps the lights on in DC and pays the Country Club dues for a lot of slimeballs.

I’ve only done 6 and 6, never the others, but I have done and fully endorse 5 and 7 when there are only two in the wheelhouse.
