AMO Pensioneer Disability Medical Benefits

I was an AMO officer, deemed disabled in 2008, no longer able to work in the maritime industry due to a an onboard vessel injury. I I have been currently collecting my pension since 2010. I have also been employed since in the private sector. My question: I am now 66 years old, considering retiring from current job in the next year or so. I have had Medical coverage through my employer since I joined the private sector in 2008. I will also be filing for Social Security in the next year or so. The AMO Benefits Plans states that in order to be eligible for Pensioneers Medical Benefits, you must have 20 years of service. I was forced out due to the onboard injury after 19.5 years. I would like to have AMO Pensioneers Medical Benefits as my secondary coverage to my Social Security. Do I have any recourse here as I was forced to leave the maritime /AMO due to an onboard injury? Any input wiould help.
Thanks!
